Loved the “behind the scenes” look of what it takes to write a poem. When feedback is given in the right way, it is invaluable. Even feedback you don’t agree with can make you think, take a step back and give you clarity.

I agree entirely. I’ve received just a few unsolicited comments offering edits on Substack that at first made me bristle, but once I opened up, even those made me think…

Yes. Learning what to make of feedback, and how to use it, is an art. So is giving feedback. People who leave unsolicited feedback in your comments have not learned the art of giving feedback. But sometimes you can still make use of what they say, since you've learned the art of receiving feedback.
